Lorena Piedra,

K-3rd Grade Teacher

I have been a teacher at East Valley Adventist School for the last two years. EVAS is a place where we all experience spiritual, academic and social growth. I believe that God has a purpose for each of us and mine is to work at EVAS. My job as a teacher is to prepare the students for this world’s academic challenges and to help them understand God’s love and purpose for them. It is my responsibility as a teacher to help students develop their natural talents and provide them with the materials they need to succeed in life

Minerva Salmeron,

Administrative Assistant and Treasurer

It has been my privilege to be part of East Valley Adventist School for over ten years.  I serve as the school’s secretary and treasurer.  In that capacity I enjoy interacting with the students, families, school board members, pastors and the staff of EVAS.  As the secretary, I can be found in the school’s office, greeting visitors, answering phones, and handing various office tasks. As the treasurer, one of my primary responsibilities is to manage the school’s finances. This role often allows me to see how God provides for the school and its families.

East Valley Adventist School is a very special place.  Those who have had the privilege of experiencing this school would agree. One of my greatest joys is to see how the children participate in the worship of God along with their academic training. This is very different from public schools, which is all I had known before coming to EVAS. My prayer is that more students and families will have the opportunity to become part of the EVAS family.

Astrid Vodeb,

K-3rd Grade Master Teacher

I was born in Santiago, Chile and at 15 I moved to Argentina where I finished high school and studied to be a Bible Instructor. After meeting my husband and moving to the United States, I worked as a teacher's aide and began studying to be a teacher. I finished at 42 years of age.

I have taught for a total of 36 years, 25 of them in the East Valley. God has always guided me and continued to bless my family and me.
